Author and historian Dominic Price was interviewed in 2020 by Marcus Howard of Easter Rising Stories about the story of the Mayo men and women active during the War of Independence and Civil War, which is a story that has been largely untold until recently.

Daring attacks and shocking incidents from this period give a real insight into the courage and tragedy of the period. The myth that little or nothing happened in Mayo during these troubled times is completely dispelled in this interesting discussion.

The lecture is excellent and Dominic Price’s book is a compelling read. The lecture covers the Tourmakeady Ambush and other engagements throughout Mayo in this period.
